Donald Trump says he won't run for president again in 2028 if he loses in November
In an interview broadcast on Sunday, Donald Trump stated that if he loses this year's presidential election, he does not intend to run for president again in 2028.
In an interview with Sharyl Attkisson for the Full Measure television show, the former US president, who ran in 2016 and 2020, was asked if he envisioned himself running again in four years.

"No, I don't," Trump responded. "I don't see that at all."
He concluded by saying: "Hopefully, we're going to be successful."
Kamala Harris now leads Trump in most head-to-head polls, after Trump had previously established a strong lead over Joe Biden before abandoning his re-election campaign following a catastrophic debate performance. However, the presidential race remains tight heading into the November election, particularly in important battleground states that will determine victory.
Attkisson questioned Trump on the positions he sees tech billionaire Elon Musk, former Democratic congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard, and former independent presidential candidate Robert F Kennedy Jr. occupying in his administration. Trump stated that he had not made any deals since it was "not appropriate" and "too early."
Still, he outlined what Musk, Gabbard, and Kennedy, all former Democrats or party supporters, may potentially collaborate on if he is elected.
"Bobby will do great on health and on the environment," he told me. "He looks at other countries where they don't use chemicals, where they use much less than we use, and the people are healthier than they are in the United States, which is not that healthy a country."
Kennedy has been campaigning for Trump since abandoning his own independent presidential campaign to back the Republican nominee.
Gabbard, a military veteran who formerly served as a Democratic congresswoman from Hawaii, was characterized by Trump as "a common sense person". She recently stated that she would "be honored to serve" under a second Trump presidency. Gabbard ran for president as a Democrat in 2020, but decided to back the Republican nominee in this year's elections.
During a Fox News interview, Gabbard stated that she aspires to work in foreign policy.
"I've known her a little bit, and it was a great honor when we got her," Trump said in an interview on Sunday.
Gabbard and Kennedy were nominated to Trump's transition committee last month, which will assist Trump in determining policies and personnel if he wins the presidency in November.
Trump complimented Musk as someone who can pursue ideas to reduce federal government spending, a concept he has proposed along with a "government efficiency commission".
"Elon is Elon," he explained. "He's a big cost cutter. He's always been really excellent at it, and so am I. But Elon, I'll tell you what, he'll go in and say, "This is what you have to do." You need to do this. He is very into it; he believes there is a lot of waste and fat in our country, and he is correct."
